The Foot Locker South boys championship race was a scrum from the beginning. After a mile in 4:45, the lead group came around the lake the first time in an unbroken pack of 100 or more runners four and five abreast on the hard packed pebble and dirt path. Jimmy Clark, a senior from Creekside (St. John's, Fla.), was in front, although ever so slightly. "I'm a front runner. I'm most comfortable there," Clark said.
