Five of North Carolina's best high school girls' distance runners will highlight the 33rd Foot Locker South Regional Cross Country Championships today at McAlpine Park.

The meet, in its 30th year at McAlpine, will feature state champions from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia, as well champions from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The top 10 from the seeded races (girls, 10 a.m.; boys, 10:40 a.m.) will advance to the Foot Locker National Championships on Dec. 10 at Balboa Park in San Diego.
