Dr. Phillips’ Bridget Blake qualifies for Foot Locker nationals

Bridget Blake of Dr. Phillips qualified to compete in the Foot Locker cross country nationals on Dec. 10 in San Diego by finishing seventh Saturday at the South Regional meet in Charlotte, N.C. Blake finished in 17 minutes, 26 seconds, which was 24 seconds behind race winner Cali Roper of Conroe, Texas, Willis High. Blake has won the Class 4A state title the past two seasons.

Billy Anguish of Winter Park was the highest Central Florida in the boys race, taking 32nd in 15:31. Craig Nowak of Cypress, Texas, Cypress Woods won in 14:37.
