North Carolina’s top two distance runners will highlight a deep field on Saturday at the 34th Foot Locker South Regional Cross Country Championships at McAlpine Park.

Charlotte’s Alana Hadley, ranked No. 5 in milesplit.com’s national Top 25, and Cary’s Bakri Abushouk, No. 14 in the boys’ rankings, will be vying for a trip to the Foot Locker National Championships on Dec. 8 at San Diego’s Balboa Park.

To do so, each will have to finish in the top 10 in the girls’ and boys’ seeded races. The girls start 10 a.m. and the boys at 10:40 a.m.
